All this rain is making us want to get out there and ...PLANT something.

Join the cast and crew from Christ the King May 25th in planting the Ressurection Garden. (OK, it is really our garden here at Christ the King, but it is a fun day of planting, and your efforts pay off in BIG ways as the fruit of your labors grows, blossoms and provides food for our table here and for local food pantries.)

Lunch will be provided by Chef Bill. All you need bring is yourself, your enthusiasm, and maybe your own work gloves or hand tools; we will have some on hand for those who do not bring their own.

King's Quilters Help the Homeless

The CtK King's Quilters met on February 28th to create "Covers of Love", which are sleeping bags for the homeless made of blankets, sheets and old neckties. The ties make it easy to roll up and carry the sleeping bag from place to place. The quilts were made with donated material and sewn by the group of ladies pictured on the right.

Welcome Home Initiative Retreat

It's not too late to sign up for this month's Welcome Home Initiative Retreat, held March 17-19 at Christ the King. WHI is a program for members of the Armed Forces and their families. Its mission is to provide resources for healing to those who have suffered trauma in combat, be it physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual.

The three-day retreat includes:

King's Quilters Quilt for St. Margaret's Children

The King's Quilters have been hard at work again, this time making personalized quilts for children at St. Margaret's Center, a long-term care facility. This weekend, twelve ladies gathered at CtK for an overnight retreat to work on this ongoing project--and completed fifteen quilts! These ladies donated their time, talent and supplies to make these quilts, which were blessed at our Healing Service this Tuesday.

Brotherhood of St. Andrew Donates Sidewalk Plow

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew at Calvary Church, Burnt Hills, donated this beautiful new sidewalk plow to CtK to help us keep our walkways clear in the winter:

The Brotherhood raised funds for the plow by selling fire wood cut at CtK and by powerwashing houses and decks. Thank you, Brothers, for your hard work and generosity!

'Stained Glass' Quilt Made For CtK

A talented group of designers and quilters have made an exquisite full-size quilt for Christ the King. The quilt design is based on a stained glass window at Christ Episcopal Church in Walton, NY.

This beautiful quilt is the handiwork of Laura Miller, Larry Miller, Cathy Crosby, Charlie Amato, Joan Amato, Peg Haley, Jean Mead, and Phyllis Williams. The quilt embodies 739 hours of work from conception to completion.

Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for this lovely and unique gift.

On August 3, 2007, "You Gotta Hear This!" an ecclectic musical group led by Steven Marking, came to CtK and blessed us with a delightful evening of music.

Didn't get to hear Steven and the band? Heard them and want more? You're in luck! "You Gotta Hear This!" will return to CtK for another performance on Saturday, September 29. Mark your calendars!

Food Network features The Ice Cream Man at CtK

The Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay visited CtK today to feature The Ice Cream Man, a favorite summer stop in Greenwich, NY. The Beaver Cross campers and staff enjoyed some delicious treats from The Ice Cream Man.

Thanks to Bobby and the Food Network, and especially to Julie and The Ice Cream Man staff for a unforgettable time!

Volunteers Needed!

Construction of The King's Inn is nearing completion! We need you to help get it ready for guests.

There are three ways you can help...

Volunteer Workdays June 27 and 28 from 9am to 4pm. One crew will work on cleaning rooms and setting up beds and furniture. Another will work on landscaping including spreading and seeding topsoil.

Furniture Finishers. If you have some experience with a shellac brush and an eye for detail, come help finish the hundred plus pieces of furniture ready for the Inn. This has already started, and your help is welcome immediately anytime of the day or night.

There is Much To Do beyond Volunteer Days and Furniture Finishers. Make some time to ask how you can help The King's Inn.
